ISKILD
Iskild means "cold spring" in Danish. Nestled deep in the Danish Lake Highlands, the fabled artisan ISKILD spring is fed by an aquifer 197ft below alternating layers of soil, quartz sand and hard clay.
It has a refreshing taste with a slightly sweet aftertaste, it is alkalic, and has a high oxygen content. Due to its high content of calcium and magnesium, the water has a pleasant, milky mouthfeel. At the source, the water is highly aerated. We think this is the explanation for its unique softness. To recreate the sensation of drinking directly from the source, they saturate the water with oxygen before filling.
ISKLD is sourced in a pristine area south of Åbenrå Fjord. The source is artesian. It has been known for its taste and drinkability since 1561. Bottling is done semi-manually, at a speed dictated by the natural rate of flow.
This water would pair nicely with a bold red wine.
